We offer a wide range of financial services to public and not-for-profit clients.
On an advisory basis we work with public and not-for-profit sector
clients entering the debt markets through negotiated or competitive public
offerings. We also directly place tax-exempt obligations with a wide range of
institutional investors. Our capabilities encompass advising on a
full range of tax-exempt instruments, including notes, variable rate demand
obligations and long-term bonds.

Specifically, our past services have included:
participating in firm underwritten offerings; directly placing suitable issues
with institutional investors in private placements; advising clients on the
amount, structure, and timing of debt issues; preparing clients for
presentations to rating agencies; assisting clients in the negotiation of
documents relating to the debt issue; arranging credit enhancement, including
bond insurance and letters of credit; helping in the preparation of the request
for proposal and the selection of underwriters for a negotiated sale;
advertising for a competitive offering; and evaluating the bids from responding
underwriters.

We have been the financial advisors to some of the most prominent not for profit
institutions in the U.S. in connection with the issuance of tax exempt bonds totaling
in the billions of dollars. Our close relationship with The University
of Chicago predates the formation of the firm, and we have continuously advised
this great institution on its vast funding requirements.
